Course Overview

The Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is designed for individuals working as health and safety practitioners with responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of a team or organisation. This qualification is suitable for a wide range of sectors.

The awarding body is ProQual Awarding Body, and the regulatory authority is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). The specification has also been approved by the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) for use in Northern Ireland.

This qualification is accredited on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

Aims of the Course

By the end of this qualification, learners will be able to:

• Ensure appropriate actions are taken to reduce workplace risks.
• Develop, monitor, and review procedures to safely control work operations.
• Promote and maintain a positive health and safety culture.
• Conduct comprehensive health and safety risk assessments.
• Apply legislative requirements and workplace procedures to protect the environment.
• Review workplace health and safety procedures and recommend improvements.
• Supervise and ensure the health, safety, and welfare of learners in the workplace (optional).
